I am an advanced downhill skiier looking for new Skis?
I have a pair of race skis but am getting more into skiing all terrain I found a place that will do a trade for mine but they only have the Elan Hot spice which is a beginner ski will that be ok for me?
That is a great deal for the shop, but not for you. Since you are used to a high performance race ski, look for an all mountain high performance ski. Check the K2 web page, www.K2sport.com and take a good look at the Recon model. There are 2 or 3 others that might suit your needs. What is wrong with your race skis for all terrain skiing? A beginner ski is a very forgiving ski, but not precise. They want to slide and skid rather than carve. Also they are a softer ski that will not react quickly to your commands. Typical ski is very damp rather than alive under your feet. Think about driving a 1950 Hudson with 4 flat tire as opposed to a 2008 Miata in race condition. Hope this helps.
